Spyro 4 Might Be Closer Than You Think Toys for Bob Teams Up with Activision Again

Spyro 4 is one of those rumors that keeps coming back and never really goes away. We have not gotten any indication from Xbox or Activision that anything is going to happen but new independent developer Toys for Bob who developed Spyro: Reignited Trilogy has been secretly teasing a Spyro revival for quite some time.

First, the studio revealed that Xbox would be the company funding it is a first solo project sparking rumors that it was related to either Spyro or Crash Bandicoot. Next a Canadian YouTuber named Guy Eh claimed that multiple people told him at PAX East last year that Spyro 4 was in the works at Toys for Bob Even though it had just started development.

Toys for Bob recently updated it is website and added a purple box with a question mark to its list of games on the homepage and it’s still there. Now we have some more small details and hints that something involving Spyro is coming thanks to an email interview between Canadian Guy Ahn and Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan.

Toys for Bob Reveals New Spyro Details in Email Interview

For starters, Yan revealed that Toys for Bob is working with Xbox which we already knew but it is also working with Activision which once again reinforces the idea that Toys for Bob is working on something Spyro-related:

Team Xbox and Activision have been very, very supportive Yan says Our check-ins almost always end with the question What else can we do to help? We work with some amazing people who really care and want us to succeed and I am so grateful to collaborate with them.

However the biggest thing to talk about in this interview has to do with the colour of Yan's answers. For some reason Yan made sure that all the answers to Canadian Guy Eh's question were purple which was entirely of his own volition. This seems like a pretty big tease and now that Xbox's Summer Showcase is scheduled for June 8 we could see Spyro make a comeback on the big stage.
