Raiders of Blackveil: A Roguelite Loot Chaser Featuring LoL-Style Champions

Raiders of Blackveil is a new co-op roguelite RPG from a fresh studio featuring deep character building and plenty of loot to collect.

When I heard that the co-founder of IO Interactive the team behind the Hitman series started a new studio with developers from games like Tomb Raider and Just Cause. I thought we'd get an action game or a stealth shooter. I didn’t expect their first game to be Raiders of Blackveil a co-op roguelite with loot and detailed buildcrafting like a MOBA.

There are many co-op games with roguelike elements right now but Raiders of Blackveil stands out with its animal characters which offer a lot of build options like League of Legends champions. The game can be played solo but it’s best enjoyed with three players. Each player takes on one of three roles: tank DPS or support.

Each character has access to over 300 perks split into eight categories based on classic RPG classes: Assassin Druid, Guardian Mage Monk Priest Warlock and Warrior. You can also team up with party members to create powerful combos using Duo Perks.

In addition you will need to create a loadout of weapons and items.

After spending a lot of time perfecting your build it’s time to go loot hunting similar to Diablo. We don’t know all the details yet. but since there are roguelike elements we can expect random runs with increasing difficulty. One thing we do know is there will be plenty of loot.

You will be searching for new items like special legendary and mythic gear along with treasures trinkets and currencies. Why? To help your animal group fight against the evil Blackveil corporation which wants to enslave wildlife and take over a dystopian consumer-driven world.
