Outworld Station a new sandbox game combines base building and automation elements from Factorio and Satisfactory now available to play in space.
Factorio: Space Age takes the popular base-building game to other planets. But what if the focus was on the stars instead? That’s the idea behind Outworld Station a new space game now available in early access on Steam. It is like a mix of the efficient gameplay in Satisfactory and the big-scale ambition of Dyson Sphere Program. You can play with up to four people as you build your space empire.
After a demo during Steam Next Fest Outworld Station is now officially available in early access. In the game you play as the Station Commander in the still-developing Tau system. Your job is to find resources on different planets to help grow your factories. Like other sandbox games you will begin by mining ore and collecting simple materials to improve your production.
Soon you will be breaking up asteroids, using cloud miners and collecting alien artifacts. As you progress you will unlock powerful tech like wormholes and antimatter. Set up supply chains and automated resource gathering then sit back and watch everything run on its own.
The Tau system is not a peaceful place. Other alien groups want its resources too. so you will need to build defenses use military ships and protect your stations and people. As you collect rare materials and find alien tech you can upgrade your buildings and your drone to make them stronger safer and more efficient.
Luckily you can team up with up to three other players so you don’t have to play alone. With friends you can share the work like exploring, building, fighting and or managing things which makes everything a lot easier. If you and your friends can agree on where to build things Outworld Station could be a great co-op game for those who enjoy working together. It is also pretty affordable so it should be easy to get a few friends to join in.
Outworld Station is now available on Steam in early access. It's currently 10% off. so you can get it for $17.09 / £13.49 until Tuesday April 29. You can check it out here. The developer Trickjump Games plans to keep it in early access for about a year with more planets tech and or enemies coming later. That timeline might be extended if needed.
