Due to player dissatisfaction with Marvel Rivals in Season 2 NetEase plans to make balance changes. including buffs for Strategists.
In most multiplayer games there are often complaints and debates about the support role. It’s a role that can be difficult to play too strong too weak or ignored in new updates. Recently players of the support role in Marvel Rivals have been upset about the state of Strategist heroes even calling for a boycott of the role. In response NetEase has announced in a new blog post that they will be adding buffs to Strategists in an upcoming update.
Players have been complaining about the state of Strategist heroes in Marvel Rivals Season 2. saying it is harder to play a supporting role. NetEase has noticed this and promises to improve the damage of certain Strategists which will make them more useful and open up more team options.
The next Marvel Rivals update will bring some balance changes. Groot and Captain America will have slightly reduced survivability Spider-Man's Amazing Combo damage range will decrease Doctor Strange will need less energy for his ultimate and Winter Soldier will see changes to his Tainted Voltage and Team Up abilities.
It seems there won’t be many balancing changes before the mid-Season 2 update in a few weeks. NetEase says it wants to keep changes small to improve certain heroes without changing the overall game too much.
In a new blog post NetEase also acknowledges a complaint from Strategist players about the difference in performance points earned in ranked matches. The developer says that in Season 2.0. a few Duelists have a small performance boost while some Vanguards and Strategists are slightly at a disadvantage. However most heroes are still balanced. In the next patch they will update the performance ratings based on new data to make sure all heroes are fair.
There’s no release date for the next update of Marvel Rivals yet but don’t worry players changes are coming.
