Marvel Rivals Players Launch Support Strike in Protest Over Game Issues

Marvel Rivals players have started a support strike after negative comments about Strategist characters. Strategists are support heroes who help keep teammates healthy but they can also support in other ways besides healing.

Luna Snow can freeze enemies to move faster help her teammates do more damage and weaken her enemies attacks. This makes her one of the best Strategists in Marvel Rivals. Invisible Woman can heal make shields to block damage and even turn her teammates invisible so they can get away safely. Strategists are a key part of Marvel Rivals just like Vanguards and Duelists. But some of them are using social media to share their frustration with how other players are playing.

In March former Overwatch player Vladan Necros Konstantinov called Marvel Rivals players who use the Strategist role idiots and morons. His comments caused a stir on social media. One Reddit user Revolutionary-Ad6480 disagreed with Necros and suggested a support strike where Strategist players switch to playing as Duelist or Vanguard instead. They also talk about how upset they felt after a match where they healed nearly 50,000 died only twice and only took 10,000 damage. Even though they played well a teammate still used voice chat to insult them and said Necros was right.

Why Are Marvel Rivals Players Boycotting the Strategist Role?

Some players agreed with Necros but others including the original poster didn’t. In fact some even stopped playing that role. The post explains that players don’t pick the Strategist role because they are bad or can’t play damage heroes. They choose it because it feels good to help keep their team alive. On Twitter Sentinels Marvel Rivals team Strategist Chassidy aramori Kaye shared her support for other support players. She said Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is the hardest for Strategists because it is easy to get attacked if players aren’t thinking carefully.

In the comments of Revolutionary-Ad6480's post many players shared why they enjoy playing support and disagreed with the streamer's view. Other Reddit users suggested that Marvel Rivals players try characters they don't usually play to better understand what other players experience. Some also recommended that Strategists should ignore Necros and keep playing the game.
