How and where do you store items in Oblivion Remastered? In Oblivion Remastered if you pick up a lot of items, you might quickly get overencumbered. Luckily you don’t have to carry everything with you. This guide will show you how and where to store items in the game so you can make more room in your inventory.

Although it may seem simple at first the way Oblivion Remastered is worded and finding a place to store your cheese wheels can make things more complicated. The game also offers many console commands to make things easier.

Best Places to Store Items in Oblivion Remastered

The first safe place to store items in Oblivion Remastered is at The Aleswell Inn which is north of the Imperial City. It’s on the Red Ring Road and I have marked its location on the map above.

Go to the inn near the vegetable patch and talk to Diram Serethi. He will tell you that he and everyone else are invisible which is why you are talking to empty space. To fix this he’ll ask you to find a wizard named Ancotar who is southeast of Aleswell at Fort Caractacus.

After talking to Diram the fort’s location will be marked on your map. Go there and watch out for invisible wolves nearby. Once you have dealt with them go inside. Ancotar will ask you to leave him alone but keep talking to him. Don’t attack him he’s friendly. He did cast a spell on me the first time for no reason but on the second try he talked to me.

The people of Aleswell have also been affected by the invisibility spell. He will eventually give you a scroll to remove it. Go back to Aleswell stand in the vegetable patch and use the scroll to lift the spell from the people. Then return to Diram. He will thank you and offer you a free stay at his inn. Go up the stairs take the first door on the left and you will find drawers where you can store your items safely.

Buy a House in Oblivion Remastered

A more expensive option is to buy a house. The cheapest one is the Imperial House in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. You can buy it for 2,000 Gold by talking to Vinicia Melissaeia at the Office of Imperial Commerce in the Market District.

You’ll need to buy storage upgrade plans to store items in your home. However I think the drawers at the inn in Aleswell are a cheaper option and work just as well.

To buy the Storage upgrade plans for the Imperial House talk to Sergius at the Three Brothers Trade Goods in the Market District.

Discover the Hollowed Tree Stump in Imperial City

You can also store your items for free in a hollow tree stump in the Imperial City’s Market District. Just go down the alley next to Rindir’s Staffs and you will find a small courtyard with the tree stump which works as a safe container.

Jauffre’s Chest in Oblivion Remastered

You can access Jauffre’s Chest early in the game at Weynon Priory after giving the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre.

Give him the amulet and ask for help. He will open a wooden chest that has items to aid your quest. You can also use it to store things you don’t need right away.

There’s a catch to using this chest. If the Mythic Dawn attacks Weynon Priory you won’t be able to access it. To avoid this don’t talk to Martin during the Kvatch Oblivion Gate quest or take him back to Weynon Priory. Since these events happen soon after you get access to Jauffre’s chest it is not recommended to use it.

Guide How to Store Items in Oblivion Remastered

Now that you have a safe place for your items (and cheese wheels) click on the drawers to open them. Then press F on your keyboard to choose the Search option.

Move your mouse over the inventory on the left side of the screen to open it. Then select items from the list and store them in the drawers. To take something out go to the drawer's inventory on the right side of the screen and move the items back.

Just like that Now you can easily store all your important items in Oblivion Remastered.
