Torchlight Infinity Season 8 has been a total success so far as a free Steam game despite stiff competition from Last Epoch and Path of Exile 2.
The newest game in this long-running series is definitely worth checking out for fans of games like Diablo. It's fast and furious outperforming most of its rivals and developer XD brings a lot of new ideas with each major update. Torchlight Infinity Season 8 is titled Sandlords and is based on a new management sim minigame in which you develop a thriving cloud oasis and recruit workers to handle various tasks from mining and goods production to raiding. In return. you'll receive mixture recipes that can improve your constructions bringing another touch of depth to this free Steam game.
Along with this comes a new twist for one of the game's playable characters. A blasphemous woman named Thea is back in the spotlight in Season 8 and she's losing her religion demanding that you cast aside her blessings instead of building them up. Doing so causes her to collect impurities in their place which can cause widespread or focused single-target damage depending on your build. There's a lot of that added extras as well as additional endgame mechanics including negative additions designed to push your endgame loadout and skills to their limits.
The results have been great with Torchlight Infinity reaching over 12,000 active players in the first few days of the new season. This is much higher than previous updates and it's impressive that it has kept up especially during such a busy time for ARPGs.
