Bellwright Medieval Survival Game Revived with Massive New Update

Bellwright an underrated survival RPG takes inspiration from The Forest Manor Lords and Age of Empires and has gained new life thanks to a recent update.

Bellwright has a great main idea. Your medieval homeland is being destroyed by a cruel king. As you travel through towns and villages you build a small army capturing land and gathering resources. You can build houses and create a new economy. Over time you bring all the towns together and fight against the evil empire. It is a mix of RPG survival and medieval strategy. Manor Lords might have taken the spotlight though. Age of Empires is the top historic RTS. but Bellwright is still one of Steam's best hidden games. It is now even bigger and better with an exciting anniversary update.

Bellwright is a mix of survival game and RPG where you can improve towns villages and your personal skills. Combat requires you to aim your strikes and dodge attacks. You can also craft hunt and build. The game lets you play at your own pace. You can choose to gather an army and go straight for the king or you can take your time and explore the wilderness at your own pace.

Bellwright was released on April 23 2024 just three days before Manor Lords. which was the most wishlisted game on Steam at the time. Because of this Bellwright got less attention. However despite the competition it has managed to stand out on its own. Over 10,000 Steam reviews have been posted with 80% being positive. Now you can practice animal husbandry buy animals from merchants keep them together and get products like eggs feathers and milk. If you choose to butcher an animal Bellwright’s skinning system has been updated offering different ways to process it resulting in various types and qualities of meat.

The interface has been updated and now traveling merchants move around the map visiting your settlements with new items. There are also more places to explore, like caves swamps and mountain paths plus 25 new quests that expand the main story of Bellwright. Perhaps The biggest addition is fishing which is important for any RPG or survival game. There are mini-games many types of fish and your villages will also fish giving you a new food source for your settlements.
